Russian Rubezh missile system destroyed by fire

The Russian Rubezh missile system was destroyed in a fire on a railway platform.

The Russian-made coastal missile complex “Rubezh” was transported by a railway. The incident with the ignition of the coastal missile system occurred at the Yudino station on June 16 – as a result of the fire, the missile complex was completely destroyed.

The Russian ministry of defense released a video showing the moment fire sets off in the coastal missile system “Rubezh”. According to the Tass news agency, the incident occurred due to an electrical fault that caused unqualified maintenance work conducted on the systems, and although there were no casualties among the military personnel, the missile complex was completely destroyed by fire. According to a report, there were no missiles in the launch canister of the complex.

The “Rubezh” is a mobile coastal missile system equipped with a subsonic anti-ship cruise missile “P-15M”. The maximum target destruction range is 80 kilometres.
