Ukraine’s Kamikaze Sea Drones damaged Russia’s tugboat Smirnov and a barge

Ukrainian naval drones attacked Engineer Smirnov tugboat and ‘Section-179’ barge in Russia’s Taganrog Bay on the evening of June 8, Russian Telegram channel Baza said.

Ukrainian naval drones attacked the tugboat “Engineer Smirnov” and the barge “Section-179” in the Taganrog Bay. The barge has minor damage above the waterline, and the tug has broken windows. Also, two crew members received light shrapnel injuries.

Russian media traditionally accuses Ukraine’s Defense Forces of carrying out the attack. Two crew members suffered minor injuries.

The captain claimed that the barge sustained minor damage above the waterline, and the tugboat’s windows were shattered.

Baza wrote that the tugboat’s operational capabilities were not compromised, prompting the captain’s decision to return to the port of Azov in Russia’s Rostov Oblast.

Located in the northeast of the bay, Taganrog Bay is the largest bay in the Azov Sea.
