Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacks Russian intelligence headquarters

This screen grab from a clip shared by Ukrainian armed forces shows troops with a flag after purportedly liberating the village of Storozheve in the Donetsk region. Kyiv has said that several villages have been recaptured after its long-awaited counteroffensive started.

Ukraine has attacked a Russian OMON headquarter. This is reported by the NEXTA media project via the Network X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry states that a drone hit the building of the Russian OMON headquarters in occupied Enerhodar. According to preliminary information, the Akhmat-1 Rosgvardiya unit was also located there.

To this end, the NEXTA media project posted a video purporting to show the incident. In the 8-second-long clip, a drone can be seen heading for the entrance area of a high-rise building. With the impact, the image disappears. The attached video has no sound.

OMON is a major unit of the Russian National Guard. The acronym stands for “Mobile Unit of Special Purpose”. It is considered part of the Russian government’s domestic instruments of power.
