Turkey is offering Bayraktar TB2 drones to former Soviet state Kyrgyzstan, learned GDC citing Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah.
Turkish media citing unnamed military sources, reports that Ankara is ready to provide Kyrgyzstan with any required military assistance in the fight against Tajikistan. Ankara decided to repeat the success of armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh less than a year ago and take away another ally from Russia.
Turkey is ready to provide military assistance to Bishkek in case of a war between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, reported Daily Sabah, quoting Turkey’s unnamed defense ministry official.
It is noteworthy that Ankara is well aware that Russia will not be able to intervene in the armed conflict between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan since both states are CSTO member states, while Bishkek is interested in gaining control over the disputed territories.
For Turkey, this is a great chance to advertise its weapons again, find new allies and weaken Russia’s position. So far, the situation for Tajikistan is hopeless since Dushanbe is unlikely to be able to oppose Turkish MLRS and drones, a Russian military expert said.
To date, the situation on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan has calmed down somewhat, but military clashes between the armies of the two countries continue.
