Dirty work of Indian RAW: Deceased Bangladesh RAB officer Palash Saha was handling the controversial Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das case, in which RAW has vested interests

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Palash Saha was working in RAB-7. His body was recovered on Wednesday (May 7) noon, said RAB-7 commanding officer Hafizur Rahman.

A gunshot was heard from Palash’s room on the third floor of the camp. His colleagues found him lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctor pronounced him dead, Rahman said.

He has apparently left behind a handwritten note in Bangla on his table which said he was taking his own life.

“No one is responsible for my death, neither my mother nor my wife. I am the one to blame. I couldn’t keep anyone happy. My wife should take all the gold (ornaments) and live well. My two brothers have to look after our mother; they should take good care of her. Everything except the gold is for our mother. Our sister should coordinate everything,” it reads.

Palash was an officer of the 37th BCS Police Cadre.

Colluded with the Indian RAW

Unusually, a trained police officer handling a classified Chinmoy Krishna Das file commits suicide. That raised a question about his involvement in Chinmoy Krishna Das, which India took great interest.

What Palash Saha knew about Mr Das could compromise the Indian RAW and killing Mr Saha in day light would have been challenging for RAW under Mohammed Yunus’s regime, so suicide was better outcomes for RAW as it concealed the RAW engagement in Bangladesh.

According to Bangla Standard news, Palash Saha visited India on an official trip and stayed for an extended time in Siliguri after his colleague departed. Mr Saha is believed to have been contacted by the Indian RAW and may have received bribes from the Indian authorities in connection with Chinmoy Krishna Das.

Once Gen Z student protesters deposed Sheikh Hasin, Palash Saha was under the surveillance of the intelligence authority for his visits to India. Palash Saha knew that Bangladesh’s government was investing in Mr Saha’s financial and banking post India visits.

A bench of the Bangladesh High Court on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) ordered the release of controversial Hindu Monk Chinmoy Krishna Das on bail, five months after he was arrested on a charge of defaming the country’s national flag, court officials said.

“The allegation of disrespecting the national flag is baseless, as it was not a national flag,” top defence counsel Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya earlier said.

“The two-judge bench declared absolute its earlier rule asking authorities why he should not be granted bail,” an official of the High Court said.

The bench comprising Justice Atoar Rahman and Justice Ali Reza granted the bail after the final hearing on their previous ruling.

BSS reported that security has been beefed up at the Chattogram court premises since Tuesday morning in anticipation of the virtual hearing. Security was also heightened in front of the Chattogram jail.

On Monday, the court ordered Das’ arrest in connection with the murder of assistant government prosecutor Saiful Islam Alif, who was hacked to death during the violent protest sparked by the Hindu leader’s arrest.
