Ukrainian Armed Forces used Bayraktar TB2 drones to strike the territory of the DPR, learned GDC citing Kyiv Post. It is reported that the attack was directed at the area of the Leninskoye settlement, located near the demarcation zone.

The information and news agency Kyiv Post has information that the target of the attack of the Ukrainian drone was the positions of the DPR forces, although no severe destruction and casualties were reported.

The attack by Bayraktar TB2 drone was carried out several hours before the conditional start of a large-scale military operation in Donbass, which does not exclude the possibility that the Ukrainian side was carrying out surveillance and actual preparation for the beginning of the military operation.

Turkey has supplied the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Bayraktar TB2 drones. To avoid possible escalation, during the expected large-scale military operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass, it became known that S-300V1 anti-aircraft missile systems were deployed near the temporary demarcation line in the Donbass region.

According to the report, at least 5 S-300V1 anti-aircraft mobile launchers are deployed in Donbass.

The Ukrainian Army’s General Staff has decided to provide ground units with reliable protection against an air attack using fighters or ballistic missiles by transferring several modern air defense systems to the hot region. According to the Ukrainian press, the country’s air defense forces consist of 11 Buk-M1 medium-range missile battalions and about 35 S-300 long-range battalions in many different variants. But it should be noted that the air defense systems of Ukraine are old options dating back to Soviet times, they have certain range limitations, and most of them cannot hit their targets at a distance of more than 55 km.

One of the reasons for the deployment of the S-300V1 systems is the likely presence of tactical missile systems and even Su-25 attack aircraft in service with the self-defence forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as previously reported, which confirms the fact that the Ukrainian side is really preparing for a powerful military operation. But at the same time, the LPR and DPR have no effective means of defense and destruction.

Earlier, there was information that the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s military operation in Donbass area was scheduled for March 15.
