Israeli Navy Fires Naval Spike NLOS Missiles At Hamas Positions

According to information published by the IDF on October 9, 2023, the Israeli Naval Forces are presently targeting Hamas-affiliated sites along the Gaza Strip coastline. It can be assumed that Israel is using the Naval Spike NLOS missiles.

The Naval SPIKE NLOS is a maritime version of the SPIKE NLOS missile system. This powerful naval missile system is equipped with SPIKE NLOS missiles that feature electro-optical (E-O) guidance and advanced fire control.

With the capability to engage targets both at sea and onshore, the SPIKE NLOS missile is a product of RAFAEL’s multi-generational SPIKE family. It boasts the ability to engage targets day and night, in all weather conditions, with a non-line-of-sight range of up to 32 km, ensuring pinpoint accuracy.

With an arsenal that can house either 8 or 4 missiles, the system is equipped with an advanced E-O seeker, ensuring high reliability and a low Life Cycle Cost.

The Naval SPIKE NLOS stands out for its operational flexibility. It can gather real-time tactical intelligence, switch targets in-flight, and even abort missions based on the evolving scenario.

It’s adept at handling a spectrum of engagements, from low-intensity asymmetric battles to high-intensity anti-armor confrontations and stand-off combat. The system offers a range of warhead options, including High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT), Penetration Blast Fragmentation (PBF) with controlled detonation, and standard Fragmentation.

Key features include a passive dual-mode E-O seeker, an Imaging Infra-Red (IIR) camera, advanced image processing tracker, and a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) for day and night operations.

The launcher’s ability to traverse ensures a flexible launch envelope, allowing ships to engage targets from multiple directions with ease. Integration with the ship’s C2 systems is seamless.

The system’s capabilities are further enhanced by its fast sequential launch ability, real-time target data collection during flight, high accuracy to minimize collateral damage, and an advanced warhead that can immobilize large ships.
