The Turkish military shot down a Russian drone over northern Syria using KORAL electronic warfare systems. According to sources, a few hours ago the Turkish military, using Koral electronic warfare, Turkey downed a Russian military unmanned aerial vehicle over the Syrian province of Idlib.
Hürriyet Daily News reported that the Orlan-10 UAV was destroyed once it lost communication with the control station, this is not the first Russian drone destroyed by Turkish electronic warfare systems.
According to a number of sources, the drone has fallen due to lost communication, GPS signal jamming, communication interruptions by KORAL EW and about a year ago it also became known that Turkey has deployed its electronic warfare systems in Syria.
Russian reconnaissance UAV Orlan-10 UAVs proved very ineffective against heavy electronic warfare environment, exports noted in Hürriyet Daily News.
It is known that no ground fire was carried out at the drone, which confirms the information about the destruction of the drone by the electronic warfare.
