Rheinmetall win a contract to supply 225 Boxer CRVs to Australian Army

Australian Army’s LAND 400 will acquire and support the next generation of Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFV) with the firepower, protection, sensors, weapons and mobility to defeat increasingly lethal and adaptive adversaries well into the future.

German Company Rheinmetall win a contract to supply 225 Rheinmetall Boxer CRVs. The vehicles will be built in Brisbane and will replace the ageing Australian Light Armoured Vehicle fleet. German company Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, which will base its operations in Queensland to manufacture Boxer CRV for Australian Army.

Queensland based Rheinmetall make up the bulk of work, however, collaborate with other subcontractors and suppliers such as Victorian based 12 companies, including AME, Cablex, Supacat and Tectonica.

The project is tipped to create 1,450 jobs across the country, with 330 to be created in Queensland, 170 in Victoria and 140 in NSW during the project’s acquisition phase.
