Swedish defense company Saab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Polish technology company WB Group to explore potential cooperation in areas including UAV systems, naval solutions, and border protection systems.
The agreement was signed on September 2, 2025, at the international defence industry exhibition MSPO in Kielce, Poland, in the presence of Peter Sandwall, State Secretary to Sweden’s Minister for Defense Pål Jonson. WB Group is a Polish technology company offering solutions for the armed forces internationally.
“This marks another significant step in Saab’s commitment to advancing strategic defence capabilities between Poland and Sweden. Partnering with WB Group enables us to share expertise and scale up innovation to deliver cutting-edge solutions for national security,” said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
Meanwhile, Saab also entered into an agreement with the PGZ Group, Poland’s largest defence corporation, at MSPO. Both parties aim to establish cooperation as potential partners in projects supporting the security of Poland and Europe.
Specifically, the companies want to explore the potential for cooperation on projects related to the development of defense solutions for multi-domain operations. The cooperation may include various projects across air, land, and naval domains.
“We are pleased to have signed this agreement today, and look forward to cooperating with the PGZ Group. This is another important milestone in strengthening the collaboration between the Polish and Swedish defence industries. There is great potential for expanding the existing partnership between our nations to ensure security and stability in Europe, including the Baltic Sea region,” Johansson commented.
Saab recently announced it signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for a larger uncrewed underwater vehicle (LUUV). The company is the prime contractor for the LUUV and will be responsible for the design, construction, and testing of the vehicle.
