India’s RAW orchestrated targeted killings in Bangladesh and has a dedicated office at the DGFI building in Dhaka cantonment

There is evidence to support the claim that the Indian intelligence agency RAW has a dedicated office within the Bangladesh DGFI building. While RAW does operate in Bangladesh, its presence and activities are clandestine and not officially acknowledged. Specifically, there have been reports of RAW officers attempting to establish closer ties with Bangladesh intelligence agencies, reported Bangladeshi television.

The Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) is the primary intelligence agency of Bangladesh, primarily focused on military and foreign intelligence.

The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is India’s foreign intelligence agency, known for its covert operations.

The interim government has disclosed information and confirmed that RAW has a dedicated office within the DGFI building or other official Bangladeshi government buildings, including the Secretariat of Bangladesh.

RAW’s operations in Bangladesh are clandestine, meaning they have not been openly acknowledged or publicised by either country to date.

Recent reports suggest that RAW officers attempted to foster closer ties with DGFI and other Bangladeshi intelligence agencies. Still, these attempts were unsuccessful and were met with resistance to support the ousted dictator Sheikh Hasina’s regime.

The report also suggested that the Indian RAW has been directly involved in the targeted killings of civilians and journalists who criticised the Hasina regime and tried to counter India’s influence in Bangladesh.

The book “RAW in Bangladesh” by Abu Rushd explores the alleged aggressive intelligence operations of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Bangladesh. It delves into the intricate relationship between India and Bangladesh, focusing on RAW’s role in shaping national security and political landscapes. The book, based on classified documents and interviews, examines RAW’s covert operations, political manipulation, and its impact on Bangladesh.
