Ukraine’s two $1000 FPV drones destroyed Russia’s S-350 Vityaz Surface-to-air missile worth $135 million

Soldiers of the 11th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine have destroyed a Russian S-350 Vityaz SAM system in the Kherson Region with the help of two FPV drones.

Video of the destruction of the complex was published by volunteer, activist and blogger Sergei Sternenko. The drones managed to completely destroy one launcher and one fire control radar of the surface-to-air missile system and damage one. The export value of one SAM launcher is more than $135 million. This is the most expensive target ever destroyed by FPV drones.

The S-350 Vityaz is Russia’s next-generation medium-range air defence missile system. It is designed to engage aerodynamic and ballistic targets at ranges of over 120 kilometres. According to the manufacturer, the complex is brought to combat readiness in 5 minutes.
