The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that its Air Force has destroyed over one-third of Iran’s missile launcher infrastructure, following a series of coordinated overnight airstrikes.
According to the IDF, the strikes targeted around 100 military sites in central Iran, particularly in the Isfahan region.
“Approximately 50 fighter aircraft and support planes participated in several waves of attacks, identifying and striking missile storage sites, surface-to-surface missile launchers prepared for deployment against Israeli territory, and headquarters where launch teams were assembling for strikes,” the IDF said in a statement.
The Israeli military claims that more than 20 missiles were destroyed minutes before they were scheduled to launch toward Israeli rear areas. The attacks also reportedly eliminated a launch team actively preparing to fire a salvo of surface-to-surface missiles.
While many of the targets were legitimate launch assets, some strikes hit decoys meant to distract from real missile threats.
“Since the beginning of the operation, more than 120 missile launch platforms have been neutralized,” the IDF said. “This figure represents approximately one-third of the total missile launchers held by the Iranian regime.”
The ongoing Israeli air campaign comes in response to Tehran’s missile attacks on Israeli territory and the broader regional escalation. Israeli officials have emphasized the need to preempt further attacks by eliminating launch infrastructure deep within Iranian territory.
The intensity of the Israeli strikes has led to a breakdown in Iranian command and control in some areas. “In certain cases, Iranian troops have abandoned their posts, leaving even ballistic missiles behind as they fled,” an IDF source said.
The Israeli government has not provided video or independent evidence of the strikes. However, defense officials stated that the operation is ongoing and further attacks are likely as part of a continued campaign to degrade Iran’s long-range strike capabilities.
