Ukrainian troops blow up new Russian rocket launcher

Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have reportedly destroyed one of Russia’s newest multiple launch rocket systems, the 9K57-1 Uragan-1, in a precision drone strike.

During a special reconnaissance operation, operators from the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) identified a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system on alert status and an advanced Uragan-1 deployed in the field. Following rapid coordination, Ukrainian forces launched strike drones and successfully hit both targets.

The Russian Armed Forces only recently began fielding the upgraded Uragan-1 system, which is based on the BAZ-69092 chassis. Russian military correspondents have touted the system as a modernized version of the Soviet-era Uragan, featuring improved mobility and automation to accelerate targeting and firing processes.

The system is designed to deliver high-volume firepower with increased accuracy and faster preparation times, offering enhanced battlefield responsiveness compared to its predecessors.

Video footage released by Ukrainian sources shows what appears to be a precision strike on a camouflaged launcher vehicle. The Ukrainian military has not disclosed the exact location or date of the engagement, citing operational security.
