Anschütz has completed the next milestone in the Australian Hunter Class Frigate Program. During the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for the Warship Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems (WINBS), the overall system design was presented to BAE Systems Maritime Australia and defined as the basis for the final design phase.

The PDR has, among other things, specified all requirements in detail and defined a system architecture with system elements and external interfaces. Significant progress has also been made on system safety and the definition of the shared infrastructure and interfaces for the Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System, which will be used to transfer naval data between critical onboard systems.

With SYNAPSIS NAVAL, Anschütz will deliver a state-of-the-art and flexible WINBS that is highly adaptable to specific customer requirements. The system must meet military requirements and standards, is sensor-agnostic and can be used within a shared computing environment and network infrastructure.
The intelligent Bridge Integration Platform provides the integrity and security of the data and fusing and processing the data into an everyday situation picture. Officers can access a consistent maritime situation picture and comprehensive navigational and tactical functions from any standard console throughout the ship. The naval applications are implemented through software and modules according to the customer’s needs and missions.
In addition to delivering WINBS, additional navigation equipment, and integrated steering gear control systems for the Hunter class frigates, Anschütz also provides advanced WINBS for the UK Royal Navy’s Type 26 and Type 31 new build programs, among others.
