Azerbaijan acquires Leonardo M-346 advanced training aircraft

Baku (GDC) — Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense signed a preliminary agreement on the acquisition of Italian Leonardo M-346 Master combat training aircraft, learned GDC citing Turan news.

According to Military Review, during a visit by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy on February, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov signed an agreement with the director of the Italian company Leonardo, Alessandro Profumo.

Azerbaijan plans to acquire 15 Leonardo M-346 aircraft. This aircraft is used to train pilots in many countries. The aircraft is capable of speeds up to 1,060 km / h and rise to a height of 13.7 km. The crew is two people.
