Rosoboronexport received small arms and vehicles order from African countries worth $1.7bn

The delegation of SA Rosoboronexport (a company belonging to the State Corporation ROSTEC) will participate in the International Exhibition of Security and Defense Shield Africa 2021 opening its doors from June 8 to 10 in Abidjan – Ivory Coast, at the National Police School.

“Rosoboronexport continues to develop military and technical cooperation with great success with the African states south of the Sahara, after a strong impetus given to it during the Russia-Africa forum in 2019. In 2020 alone and at the start of 2021 we have signed, in this region, various contracts for a total amount exceeding 1.7 billion dollars and brought to 17 the number of countries of Central, West and Southern Africa in our order book, – declared Alexandre Mikheev, Managing Director of Rosoboronexport. Today Rosoboronexport markets, in the region, helicopters, anti-aircraft defense systems, naval equipment, armored vehicles, equipment for law enforcement services, security of airports and sensitive sites, weapons to fire, including special-purpose weapons ”.

During Shield Africa 2021, the Rosoboronexport delegation plans to organize several meetings and negotiations with representatives of the public forces of the states of the African continent and to present Russian products offered by the company for all armies, including the police and special forces.

BTR-80 , 80A  and 82A armored personnel carriers , Kalashnikov assault rifles of the “ 100  ” and “ 200  ” series, АК-12  and АК-15 , as well as АК-19  and АК-308 , absolute novelties for Africa, here are some examples of products very popular in this region, which will be presented by the specialists of the company. In addition, detailed information will be made available to our partners on Russian anti-tank missile systems such as “ Kornet-E  ” and “ Kornet-EM  ” or 120 and 82 mm mortars.

Besides the delegation of Rosoboronexport, Russia will be presented by the LLC “VPK” which will exhibit armored vehicles VPK-233316 “Tiger”  in version “Reid”, VPK-39473 “Strela” and “VPK-Ural”. These vehicles will be unveiled for the first time on the African continent at this Show. As part of Shield Africa 2021, Rosoboronexport is ready to organize detailed consultations and negotiate deliveries of these materials.

“We also intend to inform our partners of a considerable expansion of our field of activity. Today we are actively developing another axis, that of the delivery of Russian products for civilian use. In this aspect, Rosoboronexport operates as a “one-stop-shop”, thanks to its great reputation among business circles and state authorities in African countries, and plays the role of guarantor of the diligence and credibility of the markets. for Russian manufacturers as well as for foreign customers ”, – added Alexander Mikheev .

Rosoboronexport has created a specific subdivision, the main functionality of which consists of deliveries of products for non-military use, with the objective of promoting civilian products on the world market for the benefit of Russian companies with no experience of operations in this field. of foreign trade.

Among the main lines of this activity are vehicles, sea and river vessels, civil and service weapons, manufacturing equipment, metallurgical and chemical products.

Our company has already completed several contracts for the delivery of modern fire trucks, civilian helicopters and security systems to various countries around the world and is currently conducting a series of pre-contractual negotiations. We have entered into several agreements for the joint promotion of civilian products on foreign markets with large Russian groups. These agreements are currently being implemented.
