Naval Group teams up with Croatian partners on Gowind corvette program.

French shipbuilder Naval Group has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Croatian partners within the framework of the Gowind Multi-Role Corvette Program.

As informed, the MOUs were inked on February 24. 2026 in Split, during the visit of the French logistics support vessel. They form a part of Naval Group’s offer to deliver a European-designed multirole surface combatant for Croatia. The proposed corvette program is intended to provide the Croatian Navy with a modern multi-mission platform capable of a broad spectrum of operations.

Under the framework, several Croatian companies have been selected to contribute to the program:

The officials said the partnerships aim to integrate Croatian expertise into an international defense supply chain while supporting domestic industrial growth and innovation.

Adria Winch described the agreement as a milestone for the company, noting that recognition by Naval Group affirms its engineering capabilities and long-term commitment to naval programs. The company added that participation in the project represents a significant opportunity for Croatia’s defense industry and future fleet development.

Gowind corvette design has been selected by four navies, including Egypt, the UAE, Malaysia and Romania. If Croatia proceeds with the HRM program, it would become the fifth operator of the Gowind design.
