Swedish Aerospace Company Trelleborg Opens Factory in Morocco.

Morocco’s aerospace industry is preparing for another major expansion as Swedish manufacturer Trelleborg gets ready to open its first production site in the kingdom next month.

Located in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur near Casablanca, the new factory will officially begin operations on June 9.

The project reflects Morocco’s growing role as a strategic manufacturing hub for the global aviation industry.

Trelleborg, a company specialized in advanced polymer solutions, will produce sealing systems used in aircraft equipment and aerospace technology.

According to le360, the facility represents an investment of nearly MAD 120 million (around $12 million), and is expected to create between 150 and 200 direct jobs.

The industrial site covers 7,800 square meters, including more than 5,000 square meters of built facilities designed for aerospace manufacturing.

The project is part of Morocco’s broader efforts to strengthen its aerospace ecosystem, particularly through partnerships linked to Boeing’s industrial network in the country.

Trelleborg’s decision to establish operations in Morocco followed agreements signed during the 2024 Marrakech Air Show, a major event that brought together international aerospace leaders and investors.

Morocco’s combination of industrial infrastructure, political stability, and skilled labor played a central role in attracting the Swedish group.

The presence of specialized training institutions such as the Aerospace Institute (IMA), alongside support from the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Association (GIMAS), helped reinforce the country’s appeal for high-value manufacturing projects.

The arrival of Trelleborg also marks the entry of a Swedish aerospace company into Morocco’s aviation sector for the first time, further diversifying the country’s international industrial partnerships.

Industry officials see the investment as another sign of the rapid evolution of Morocco’s aerospace platform, which has increasingly positioned itself as a competitive production base close to European markets.

The addition of Trelleborg is expected to strengthen local supply chains and bring new technologies to the sector, especially in advanced polymer engineering used to improve aircraft safety and durability.

Founded in 1905, Trelleborg operates in around 40 countries and employs more than 15,000 people worldwide.

The company also runs dozens of research and development centers focused on industrial innovation.

With the opening of the new plant, Morocco continues to attract global aerospace manufacturers seeking stable industrial environments and competitive production capabilities.
