Russia purchased $5 billion worth of cruise missile, ballistic missile, ammo and drones from Iran.

According to Bloomberg citing a western official Iran has provided Russia with nearly five billion dollars worth of missiles and drones since October 2021.

The shipments reportedly included hundreds of short range ballistic missiles surface to air systems and Shahed 136 drones along with technology that enables domestic production of the Geran 2 in Russia.

These supplies are reported to be based on contracts signed starting from October 2021 and entered into force before the war began.

The total value of these contracts, covering ballistic and air defense missiles, is stated to be approximately $2.7 billion.

According to the assessment, hundreds of Fath-360 tactical ballistic missiles, approximately 500 other short-range ballistic missiles, and nearly 200 surface-to-air missiles were delivered to Russia.

Additionally, it was reported that Iran provided Russia with millions of rounds of ammunition and artillery munitions.

It was noted that Tehran supplied Shahed-136 kamikaze drones and shared the technology enabling Russia to produce this system under the name “Geran-2″ worth $2.5 billion.

It was stated that Russia’s total spending on military equipment of Iranian origin since the end of 2021 has exceeded $5 billion.
