Thailand Unveils Chaiseri Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

Chaiseri is raising the bar for Thai defense systems with the new Guardian-T 8×8 armored vehicle, a platform designed to integrate a heavy-caliber cannon alongside long-range missile armament.

Unveiled at the 2025 Defense and Security expo in Bangkok, the vehicle represents Thailand’s latest push to field export-ready wheeled combat systems with flexible weapon and sensor integration.

The Guardian-T builds on the amphibious 8×8 chassis used by the Royal Thai Navy Marine Corps but shifts toward a medium-weight, direct-fire support role.

Weighing 25 tons, it can carry up to six personnel and features a diesel engine, automatic transmission, independent suspension, and permanent 8×8 drive.

In terms of survivability, its welded monocoque hull meets STANAG 4569 Level 2, a NATO standard for protection against small-arms fire and shrapnel. It can even be upgraded to Level 3 for heavier fire and explosions.

The vehicle can reach 110 kilometers per hour (68 miles per hour) and has an 800-kilometer (497-mile) range, all while retaining good off-road mobility from its amphibious roots.

At its core, the vehicle mounts a remotely operated turret with a 105mm self-loading cannon and anti-tank guided missile launchers, giving it both direct-fire and stand-off strike capability.

The turret ring supports various modules, including French and Israeli options, though Chaiseri requires any selected system to be produced domestically with full technology transfer.

Onboard systems include secure tactical communications, GPS with digital compass, a night-vision driver camera, automatic fire suppression, and tire pressure monitoring.

Optional survivability upgrades are planned, including a laser warning receiver and acoustic gunshot detection.

Still in early development, the Guardian-T is positioned as a flexible platform that can be tailored for direct engagement support, reconnaissance, or hybrid missions.
