Israeli Air Force destroyed Iran’s Shiraz Electronics Industries, a painful blow to Iranian Mullahs

Shiraz Electronics Industries was reportedly targeted in Israeli airstrikes early Sunday morning. These strikes also hit a Defense Ministry-linked facility in Isfahan. Iran International reported the attacks on these sites, along with others in Kermanshah.

Further details on the extent of the damage to Shiraz Electronics Industries are not yet available, but the facility is known to be involved in the production of radar and electronic equipment for the Iranian military, and has been sanctioned by the US and EU. It is also associated with Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.

Shiraz Electronics Industries is also directly involved in smuggling American and European semiconductors and dual-use electronics through a Chinese entity, and has extensively used Chinese banks for international money transfers, thereby circumventing international sanctions.

Israeli airstrikes hit military targets in Kermanshah early Sunday, Iran’s ISNA news agency reported.

The Israeli army earlier issued an urgent warning for Iranian civilians to evacuate areas near military sites.

Shiraz Electronics Industries produces radar and electronic equipment for the Iranian military, including the Qamar 3-D search and control radar system for electronic warfare, air navigation systems, communications intelligence systems (COMINT), and electronic signals intelligence systems (ELINT).
