The Russian army has found a new method of defense against Ukrainian aircraft. It consists in the use of mock-up anti-aircraft missile systems.

Colonel Yuriy Ignat, spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine, told about this. He stressed that the Russians make photos of mock air defense systems and distribute them on social networks as “reliable information.

At the same time, according to the colonel, such protection does not always help the Russian army. For example, Ukrainian servicemen have already managed to destroy 15 S-300 surface-to-air missile systems recently.

Russia has deployed a S-300 mockup in occupied Ukrainian territory.

At the same time, Yuriy Ignat confirms that Russia continues to bring real air defense systems to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about anti-aircraft missile systems S-300, S-400, Buk-M2, Buk-M2 and Tor.

According to Ignat, in addition to real equipment, during the war against Ukraine, the Russian Army often uses mock-ups of air defense systems, and it is their photos that are usually “merged” on the Internet. However, such tricks do not prevent the soldiers of the Armed Forces from destroying the enemy’s air defense system.

Recently, 15 S-300 systems were destroyed at once, – he recalled.

Yuriy Ignat noted that in order for our strike aircraft and ground forces to be able to quickly de-occupy Ukrainian territories, the Russian air defense system should first be destroyed.
