On 3 April 2022, a Su-35 combat aircraft was shot down near the settlement of Malaya Kamyshevakha near the Kharkiv region.

Residents of the Kharkiv region have published photographs of a fighter of the Sukhoi family destroyed in the Kharkiv region. The photograph of the wings could identify the type of aircraft downed by the Stinger missile.

Images of the wreckage of an aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have started to circulate online in the afternoon (European time) on Apr. 3, 2022.  The jet went down near Izium, in eastern Ukraine, some 120 kilometers to the southeast of Kharkiv.

A video recording showing the moment the Stinger man-portable anti-aircraft missile system hit the combat aircraft. The combat aircraft was shot down earlier yesterday morning. The pilot of the Flanker derivative survived the ejection and was captured by the Ukrainian forces.

Nevertheless, the wings of the downed combat aircraft are identical to the Su-35S fighter.

Military experts identify the tail fuselage as the same type as the Su-35S of the Russian Air Force. According to the Ukrainian sources, the Su-35S was shot down by the Ukrainian Stinger missile.

Single seater, without canards, equipped with the L-265M10P/R ECM wingtip pods and featuring heat shields on the stabilizers: the aircraft was quickly identified as an Su-35S Flanker-E multirole 4++ generation jet.
