Israeli Kamikaze Harop Drones Capable of Destroying Russian Krasukha-4 EW Systems

Israeli has improved kamikaze drones “Harop” with new countermeasures capability against enemy electronic interference by electronic warfare systems which can now destroy the Russian electronic warfare systems.

The Russian Army has deployed “Krasukha-4” electronic warfare system in Syria. The Krasukha-4 has been advertised to be a GPS jammer of reconnaissance drones and GPS suppression to disconnecting communications and systems of combat aircraft. However, according to Jerusalem Post, “Harop” drones are specially modernized to deal with the Russian electronic warfare systems – in case of activation of the latter, the drones automatically aim at the target and hit it.

According to experts, in a similar way this applies not only to electronic warfare equipment, which creates powerful radio-electronic radiation in all ranges, but also to radars of air defense equipment, including the S-300 air defense system, and the S-400 SAM – Thus, the positional area of the “Favorite” air defense missile system on the territory of Karabakh, as well as the electronic warfare “Repellent” SAM, was destroyed.

“It is still possible to protect electronic components from powerful radio-electronic effects, and now the drones, which literally avoided suppressed area when Russian electronic warfare systems were activated, and hit the Krasukhs themselves. If the S-400 were not covered by short-range air defense systems, then the issue of destroying the latter would also not have any difficulty, the expert said.

Experts concludes that it is thanks to such improvements that Israel gained significant superiority over Russian surface-to-air missile in Syria, and Nagorno-karabakh.
