Armenian Su-30SM failed to take off from Gyumri airbase

Armenia restrained it’s Su-30SM fighters which could be a target of Turkish F-16 fighters.

The Armenian Su-30SM fighters, which are in service with the country just a few months ago, were unable to protect the airspace of Armenia since the military airfields were under constant drone attack by the Azerbaijani military. For two weeks of active confrontation, Armenia was never able to lift its Su-30 combat fighters into the air.

According to an official statements of Yerevan, the Azerbaijani army and Turkish forces are actively using their combat aircraft, in particular, Turkish F-16 shot down a Su-25 attack aircraft, however, Armenia has not yet used its main weapon – fighters, which obviously indicates that the Turkish Air Force do not even allow the latter to take off.

Of course, Armenia does not have so many combat aircraft, but without air support, any military operations and counterattacks are completely useless, especially when the threat directly from AIM-120 AMRAAM, which can strike from all direction, – the analyst notes.

To date, it is known that two Su-30SM fighters of the Armenian Air Force are based in Gyumri, as it was said earlier, hiding behind a Russian military airbase, apparently fearing a tactical attack from Baku.
