Thai Shipyard built two M36-class Patrol Boats for Thai Navy

Thai shipbuilding company Marsun Limited has launched two more M36-class patrol vessels for the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).

The boats, with pennant numbers 114 and 115 respectively, were launched on 31 July at Marsun’s facilities in Samut Prakan, Thailand, the company confirmed with Janes on 4 August. The vessels were laid down in June 2018, and will be the RTN’s fourth and fifth vessels in the M36 class overall once commissioned.

The class has an overall length of 36 m, an overall beam of 7.6 m, and a hull draught of 1.75 m. Powered by three Cummins KTA50-M diesel engines with 1,800 hp each, the vessel can attain a top speed of 27 kt, a standard range of 1,200 n miles at 12 kt, and can accommodate a crew of 28.
